A 10-year old girl will sleep safely at home tonight after her heroic dog sprung into action to stop an attempted abduction.

Police in Prince William County, Virginia are crediting a young girl’s dog for stopping a kidnapper by biting the man’s arm when he grabbed the girl.

The 10-year old girl was walking her dog around 3:50pm on Friday afternoon when an unknown man approached her.

The man suddenly grabbed the young girl’s arm and her loyal dog sprung into action, biting the man’s arm, forcing him to release his grasp and run away on foot. The girl was not injured.

The girl’s family contacted Prince William County Police who sent a K-9 unit to the area to check the area. The suspect, described as a Hispanic male, 5’3″, 145-pounds, with short brown hair and a goatee, was not located. The investigation continues.

Meanwhile, the young girl will sleep soundly in her bed tonight thanks to the loyalty and quick action of her very best fur-friend. Good dog!
