Crime Stoppers of Houston has offered a $5000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Alfred Ramirez, a known dog fighter.
In October 2008, police went undercover to infiltrate and attend a dog fighting operation in Harris County, Texas. Once inside, the found Ramirez, 40, forcing a dog to fight for money.
Ramirez is a Hispanic male, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall.

Anyone who mistreats an animal to make themselves feel better is psyco. Dogs (my favorite) really helps me get around. Just saw site where they are finding chunks of cheese and snacks with nails put into them. Watch out in dog parks!

To the person who thinks that dogs and/or roosters fighting is “natural” and nothing is being forced. Just consider the animals choices — they are thrown into a confined pit/area and they can either die a gruesome death or they can fight and try to make it out alive. So…..yea….I’d say that is pretty much “forcing” an animal to fight.
And lets not forget about the bait dogs who get shredded and mutilated just so the other dogs can have their confidence built up and be in an excited state before the fight.
Disgusting! I would love to see an eye for an eye for people who fight animals!

How do you force a dog to fight? How naïve can one be in our day and time. For those that don’t know how these dogs are trained to fight and the abuse they suffer, get yourself educated before making any further comments. This monsters picture should be put up on every social media network. And when he is found the courts should make an example out of him that the people have spoken and we will not tolerate dog fighting, bird fighting, or any other type of animal abuse for the crazies to enjoy watching.
For the comment about the children, our hearts and prayers go out to them. The one thing that is different here is that there are organizations and hospitals that see to the needs of the children and the families, do your research. On the other hand, there is only a few organizations with the funds and resources to help the animals.

Birds have been fighting since before your last name was established. You cant force an animal like a chicken to fight. They do it on their own instinctive will. If it was as easy as “forcing” than any breed could perform or be forced. It’s a specific strain with certain instincts that can not be suppressed. You should educate yourself a little better before making ignorant public statements. People have detatched themselves from the raw unsensored side or nature n have become unable to cope with death and as a result have tried to bend the world around their illusion of the fairy tale that they think life should be. Im not defending dog fighting but i know enough about game roosters to know that its no moral flaw. Bash me if yall want i doubt i will ever revisit here so dont expect a reply. My understanding will not be waved by anyone twisted enough to value an animal more than a person anyways. And your precious HSUS has plenty of donated money but they chose not to support shelters and spend it on more commercials and false statements.

When fighting game roosters, it’s a SERIOUS moral flaw when humans attach blades to the rooster’s feet to ensure a bloody, gruesome, deadly fight – that’s gone WAY past the “raw side of nature”. There is nothing natural about that. And there’s nothing natural about forcing birds to fight each other in confined areas either. How stupid can you get???
And “your underst anding will not be waved by anyone … (that) value an animal more than a person”? How about putting value on the fact that this creep broke the law, this is a criminal act, and people are going to prison for it!

The Gamecock is a dying breed. If it were not for the cockfighters who have been maintaining their bloodlines for so many years, they would have been extinct long ago. They do not ask for funding from taxes or from people. They take from their own pockets to fund the well being of the most beautiful, and courageous birds in the world. A bird with Ancient Instincts, that cannot be duplicated fully anywhere on earth. They test these birds to make sure the bloodlines, stay strong and true, so their children can have these birds to admire in their life. Here in America we have some of the most highly maintained strains in the whole world. Exhibiting their Ancient Instincts to the fullest. Making it possible for a chicken, to be more than a chicken. They require more care than a dog, cat or even a barnyard chicken. They are required to remain separate from others in many fashions, this making it difficult for Zoo, and Animal rights activist, to effectively take care of them. They have shown in the past they are not willing to spend this time. Rather they would spend it to help this Ancient Warrior on its way out of the world forever, very sad indeed. Where as there are millions of the ancient birds in the country today, with restrictions in this country mounting, there may soon be none at all to be found. Extinct, gone as we know it forever. Yet, we protect mice, and White Owls, and Eagles, and Turtles, and a whole host of other animals. Yet they don’t want you to protect the Game Cock, nor the people who have been maintaining the blood lines for 100’s of years, at no additional cost to anyone. We need protection, so we can protect these birds. We need guaranteed rights, saying we are allowed to breed these birds, under federal law. We need guaranteed land set a side for us to test our Gamecocks on. In nature these birds test themselves, in a more brutal cold fashion, as it is the only way to see who gets to lead the family, the gamest cock taking over the lead of the family. The way the modern world is trying to “protect” them is just not what’s good for them, they are warriors, they fight naturally in the wild. Yet with so many predators they have no chance in the wild. So we take it upon ourselves to care for and protect and feed them. Please I ask of you, to protect us, while we protect them. I challenge you to learn a textbook fact about Gamecocks each day for a week. As you can’t look to the HSUS, and PETA as they misinform people on the subject, to advance there terrorist agenda.
also i’d like to add that gamefowl are not fought with “blades”, in the US they are fought mostly with gaffs.(they are fought in mexico and Philippines with knifes but gaffs in the US) a gaff looks like a metal spur. it is nearly identical to a natural spur but is smaller in diameter as to not make a big bloody hole. natural spurs are wider at the base and make for a gruesome, bloody, fight. gaffs are made to make the fights quicker and more humane, because cockfighting is a means to allow farmers to pick better brood stock as to improve the breed and save it from extinction. gameness is a means to keep all chickens alive, nearly all wild forms of chickens were originally game, but through mans efforts to breed chickens to lay more, produce more meat etc. they have perverted the fowl, domestic fowl are more prone to disease, infertility, parasites, etc. and most wild fowl like red jungle fowl, sumatra, saipan jungle fowl, etc. are extinct from there natural environment and have lost there gameness in captivity due to bad breeding practices. game fowl are the last remaining truly wild fowl. because of there gameness they still carry high fertility, disease resistance, and parasite resistance (some asil are completely immune to mites). game fowl in a sense are on the same level as the honey bee because of there ability save chickens as whole. if you are against gamefowl you are against a culture, you are against the income it brings to local business, you are against the humane treatment of the fowl, you are against the benefits it brings to all fowl and you are for putting an animals life above a persons.

There are plenty or organizations that help families of children with cancer. Many of us animal advocates are devoting time and money to other causes as well, such as helping those families. These dogs have no one, no voice, and they are being tortured and dying by the thousands every day. You honestly sound pretty ignorant, apathetic, and appear to have the “it’s just a dog mentality”. What about the fact that these people who are torturing and killing dogs are living among society with near families, children, the elderly, and they are criminals without conscience?! And as Cyndee pointed out, they are dangerous criminals, and are involved in other criminal activity 99% of the time.

The reason they did not arrest him at that moment is that they have to build a case which will stand up in court. Just to go in there with an officer seeing just one incident is not going to stand up and will just turn into a she said/he said.
Remember our government’s criminal justice system is based on innocent until proven guilty.

Because they were under cover had they arrested him right then could have endangered the lives of the the agents undercover and they could have been running a sting as well for other dog fights investigations.
