Miley Cyrus is one of the biggest celebrity advocates for dog rescue and adoption, so it was no surprise how excited she was to tell the world about the newest 4-legged family member to join the Cyrus pack.

With the help of their mother, Tish, Miley’s little sister, Noah adopted a tiny brindle puppy from the Saving Spot! Dog Rescue of Los Angeles. And, big sister Miley took the opportunity to announce it to the world through her millions of fans on Twitter.

On Monday, the singer/actress proudly tweeted to fans, “@tishcyrus @noahcyrus just rescued baby “Rosie” from @spotrescuedogs ❤ another angel saved.” Noah later changed the pup’s name to Penny Lane.

Clearly dedicated to dog rescue and advocacy, the superstar also asked fans to donate to Saving Spot! in lieu of sending birthday gifts to her for her 20th big day on November 23.

“Thank you to all my fans who donated to Starkey Hearing Foundation Saving SPOT! Dog Rescue for my birthday :),” she Tweeted. “Y’all topped it again best bday present by far!”

It looks like dog rescue runs in the Cyrus family!
