On a July 29th parade to celebrate Peru’s independence from Spain, one of Peru’s many “street dogs” decided to join in the fun.

In the video clip below, the adorable pooch can be seen gleefully strutting alongside Peru’s military and working dogs, much to the delight of the crowd and reporters. The happy dog weaves in and around marching men and women, tail wagging, as if to celebrate the occasion, too. He really appears to be loving the attention from the crowd.

That is, until he gets a little too close to presidential security who cruelly snatch the dog – by his tail – from the street and throw him out of the parade. Television reporters, now following the street dog instead of the parade, can be heard expressing shock and anger at the inhumane treatment of the fun-loving mutt.

One reporter, disgusted by the sweet dog’s treatment, explains that the dog is well-loved by the community and makes an appearance in the parade every year.

Later in the clip, another street dog is seen being lovingly petted by a bystander.

“That’s how a dog should be treated,” said one reporter.

Peruvians in general are upset by the dog’s treatment and are taking to social media in hopes of changing the treatment of these animals by government officials.

Grabbing a dog or a cat by its tail can cause immense damage to the nerves around that area, and could leave the animal incontinent…. Poor little dog.

They have nothing to gain by being cruel to this poor animal. Imagine when they deal with matters that leave them a lot of $$ to gain. They’ll step over poor people and children. Officials and those in a position of power in any country should be scanned for the “decency” gene. Nothing good can be expected from people like that

What a bunch of savages. No wonder their country is run by Narco Terrorists; they have no moreal center. May God bless and keep the cheerful little chap until somebody down there has the wherewithal and good sense to take him off the streets and give him the love that they all deserve.

Make a statement about a Country situation based on a image of one person grabbing a dog incorrectly one time it’s much worse than the act itself.

Based on your statement… What can I say about your country? I have internet too you know? I se a LOT of youtube videos that are… in infinite ways worse.

This person in the video did not act correctly… yet, did not beat the dog, did not hurt him, just grabbed him by the tail. I am NOT in favor of what he did… but… come on people…. don’t mess with my country just because you have a computer….

Even the dogs they are supposed to be treating well, they don’t apparently. They have choke chains on all of the dogs and the golden at 2:16 is almost being hanged by his handler!
