Melissa Brookshire, DVM is a graduate of the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating, she practiced in a small animal hospital in Kansas City. Melissa and her husband, the other Dr. Brookshire, opened their own companion animal hospital in 1998. They co-owned the hospital until its sale in 2005. Melissa served as the Director of Veterinary Services for a large pet food manufacturer for 4 years prior to creating North River Enterprises in 2007.

In her free time, Melissa likes to run, read and shoot photos. Traveling is a favorite pastime of the entire family.
