One thing that can really stink is when you put your food down for a moment to go and grab something and you come back to a plate that looks like it was just ran through the dishwasher. Has this ever happened to you?

This is a fairly common problem that can not only be disappointing, it can potentially be dangerous depending on what the food item is. The video below describes a step by step guide on how to get your dog to stop doing this. It consists of using a “leave it” cue and a little bit of practice. This can work for food left on kitchen tables, coffee tables, or even counters.

In this video I am discussing how to teach your dog how to leave your food alone while you get up and walk away. If your dog doesn’t currently know “leave it” give this video a watch for some help first! Teaching a solid “Leave it”
