When an 85-year old Idaho woman was killed in a vehicle accident last weekend, no one realized her dog, a 2-year old Chihuahua, was inside, frightened, but unhurt.

The wreckage was loaded up and towed to a junkyard with the tiny dog inside.

Two days later, an officer was inspecting the vehicle at an impound lot when he got quite the surprise.

Tucked inside the totalled van was little Uno Solo, the woman’s dog, appropriately named because her little dog was her “one and only.” In fact, after finding the little dog, authorities have been unable to locate any family or friends that could adopt him. It would seem that the driver was Uno Solo’s one and only, too.

Since rescuing the little fighter, Autumn Jolley, founder of Power of the Paw is amazed at the outpouring of support from the community.

“It has been crazy. Everybody wants to know about him, everybody wants to meet him,” Jolley explained to KREM. Now, the rescue will sift through dozens of applications in hopes of finding him the perfect home.

“I just want to get him the perfect home that will love him the way she did, because I know she really did,” said Jolley.
