Bailey and her owner were hiking in the Roxborough area of Lakewood, Colorado when the dog fell more than 200 feet into an old clay mine.
A team of technical specialists from West Metro Fire Rescue performed the dangerous, steep rescue, lowering two crew members into the mine shaft and using a winch to lift Bailey safely back into the arms of a very grateful owner.
The rescue took crew members more than 3 hours, during which the family had little hope their dog had survived.
Not only did Bailey survive the ordeal, she suffered absolutely no broken bones and is doing perfectly!
