Harriet Min

After spending her life in a cage, packed alongside other dogs destined to be slaughtered and sold for their meat, one special survivor has a new lease on life and is learning, for the first time, that she can finally lay down to sleep.

Harriet was recently rescued from a South Korean dog meat farm and brought to Tampa Bay to learn what life as a dog is supposed to be like. After spending much of her 3-years of life packed inside a cage without room to lay down, Harriet had no choice but to sleep standing up.

But although she’s now free and has plenty of room to spread out and lay down, Harriet had to learn that she doesn’t have to sleep standing up.

A volunteer with the Humane Society of Tampa Bay spent an entire day with Harriet, showing her how to lay down to rest, relax, and sleep. Today, she finally knows how to lay down in her bed to sleep.

Harriet was one of 200 dogs rescued by Humane Society International from the Korean dog meat trade. Fourteen of those dogs were brought to Tampa Bay for care and eventual adoption to forever homes.

I am so thankful that these wonderful animals were rescued from this trade that is so evil and barbaric . It is difficult to process that any human would commit such unbelievable acts of cruelty against man's best friend. These heathen medieval practices need to be eradicated permanently. This practice of butchery on any living creature is repugnant at its best. These people, who practice such vile unthinkable cruelties need to be re-educated in all of the services our beloved pets provide for us. Unfortunately by all appearances these people seem to enjoy inflicting pain and suffering on the helpless animals who have no voice except caring human beings. I believe the 2017 Winter Olympics will be held in S.Korea. Very bad publicity.
