When their beloved dog went missing on February 13th, a San Jose, California couple put their lives on hold until he’s found, including postponing their upcoming wedding.

Trendee King and James Galley left Theo, their Brussels Griffon, with a dogsitter for the first time ever when he disappeared. James was working and Trendee was in Los Angeles wedding dress shopping . When James called the sitter to check on Theo, he learned the dog had gone missing.

“I was buying my wedding dress with my mom and sister. It was a joyous time. I got that call from my fiancé that the dog was missing and I went straight home that night,” King told the SFGate.

Theo had somehow escaped out the front door of the dogsitter’s house in San Jose, California. A neighbor spotted the loose dog and chased him for several blocks until losing sight of him near the Westfield Oakridge Mall, the place where he was last confirmed seen.

The couple has put up over 800 posters promising a $3,500 reward, no questions asked, for the safe return of their dog. They’ve also passed out thousands of flyers and hired a pet detective to help guide their search. In addition to spending thousands of dollars on the search effort, King and Gaffey have postponed their wedding until Theo is found, or until they have answers.

“There’s no way I can plan a wedding right now. I have to find my dog,” King said in an interview. “Part of my family is missing and there’s no way I can plan a wedding right now.”

Anyone with information about Theo’s whereabouts is urged to call or text 310-663-2652.

I don't have the money to do all this couple has done – $3500 reward, the cost of printing hundreds of flyers, hiring a pet detective, and more. However, I would spend my last dime and sell everything in my home to locate my dog if something happened. Kudos to this couple and my best wishes are with them and their dog.
