This summer, witness loyalty in action while learning about the life of young Marine Corporal Megan Leavey, the profound bond she made with her K9 partner, Military Working Dog Rex, and the incredible lengths both went to keep each other safe – and hundreds of others – in the true story film, Megan Leavey.

Megan Leavey recounts Leavey’s life following the death of her best friend to enlisting in the ranks of the U.S. Marine Corps. When she is assigned to clean up the K9 unit after a disciplinary hearing, she identifies with a particularly aggressive dog, Rex, and is given the chance to train him. Over the course of their service, Megan and Rex completed more than 100 missions until an IED explosion injures them, putting their fate in jeopardy.

The film stars Kate Mara in the title role, alongside Edie Falco, Ramon Rodriguez, Bradley Whitford, and Common. Megan Leavey was directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite (most famous for her documentary, Blackfish) from a screenplay written by Pamela Gray and Annie Mumolo & Tim Lovestedt.

The incredible film is slated for a June 9 premiere.
