A former street dog was finally shown love when he was rescued by the man that considers him a son. Now, the loyal dog returned that love when he refused to live his injured owner’s side until help arrived.

Jesus Hueche as pruning a tree outside his Buenos Aires home when he fell head-first onto the pavement below, momentarily knocking himself unconscious.

Thankfully, neighbors witnessed the fall and called for an ambulance. And, while they waited, Hueche’s loyal dog, Tony curled up by his side and refused to leave.

Even as paramedics arrived and fitted Hueche with a neck brace, Tony, a former street dog who Hueche rescued and loves as a member of the family, never left his side.

Even as paramedics tried to load the injured man into the ambulance, Tony stayed close by, attempting to jump in and join his favorite human.

Paramedics were finally able to transport their patient to the hospital, leaving Tony behind at home, where he was treated for minor skull trauma and later released, much to his best friend loyal companion’s delight.

As for Tony, the loyal dog has become a bit of a celebrity after the Defensa Civil Bahia Blanca posted photos of him comforting his injured human.

“He goes everywhere with me and lies in my bed until my wife kicks him out,” Mr Hueche told Argentinian radio station La Brujula 24. “One day we saw him on the street and adopted him, gave him love, food and is part of our family. For me he’s like a son.”

Good boy, Tony!
