It’s the holidays! The time of year for families to gather together to celebrate traditions, share old memories, and make new ones. This year, as you surround yourself with family and friends, both two-legged and four-legged alike, remember there are millions of dogs in shelters, patiently waiting for a family of their own.

For some, this won’t be their first, second, or even their third Christmas behind bars.

It’s our Christmas wish that every dog in rescue would find a home for the holidays, so we’ve selected 12 special dogs from around the country that have been overlooked time and time again. Some are senior dogs, some have special needs, and some are passed over for reasons we simply can’t understand – but, they all deserve to spend the holidays with a family of their own.

We’re calling this the 12 Dogs of Christmas. The Dogington Post along with our friends at Wellness Natural Pet Food have joined forces to introduce you to 12 needy dogs in hopes that they’ll finally get noticed…and maybe get a home for the holidays!

Meet Snoop!

Snoop’s favorite activities include cuddling, getting belly rubs, and giving kisses. Snoop is a real love bug! Additionally, he knows “sit” and is already kennel trained. He enjoys hanging out with other dogs, both big and small. He is very friendly with people. During an adoption event, he met a young girl. When we told him to sit, he just backed onto the little girl’s lap and sat!! Once you meet Snoop, we think you’ll agree that Snoop is one awesome pup! If you are ready for a happy little ball of energy who loves chasing tennis balls and loving life, then this happy boy is for you!

Snoop’s Story: Like many of the dogs at Best Friends in Atlanta, Snoop was pulled from LifeLine’s Fulton County Animal Services. This is a local county shelter and one of their Network Partner organizations.

Special considerations: Snoop has been great with all the pets and people he’s met at the shelter. He doesn’t need a fenced in yard, but it would be a great bonus! Snoop had an old injury on his hind leg when he came to Best Friends which doesn’t effect his happiness or comfort on a daily basis, but may require a follow up from the adopter’s veterinarian.

Snoop’s adoption fee has been waived, we just want him to find the perfect home he deserves!

Describe the perfect family or home for this dog:  Snoop would do great in any home. He would love to live with people or animals willing to play with him.

Does Snoop sound like a perfect fit? 12 Dogs Of Christmas

The Wellness Foundation was started to make the world a better place for all pets.

A big part of that involves a partnership with Best Friends Animal Society, a leading animal welfare organization dedicated to ending the killing of dogs and cats in America’s shelters.

As the Official Pet Food Partner of Best Friends, Wellness is proud to provide natural pet food for the animals they rescue, so they have access to the healthiest nutrition possible.

We are also committed to helping the pets at Best Friends find forever homes. And when they do, we want their first meal to be from us, so we send their new families home with free Wellness pet food. Because pets deserve nothing less than the most nutrient-dense goodness in every bowl, starting with the first one.

Plus, if you adopt one of our “12 Dogs of Christmas,” they’ll send a PAWsome gift basket filled with Wellness Natural food and treats for your newest furry family member, too!
