According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a first consent decree has been issued against animal food manufacturing company Bravo Packing, Inc.

This company was found to have been violating public safety standards under the requirements of Part 507 (Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP)). Part 507 requires that animal food facilities should take extra care in manufacturing, processing, packing, and holding animal food as to avoid contamination.

According to Steven Solomon, DVM, MPH, director of FDA’s Center for Veterinary Medicine, “This firm continued to operate under insanitary conditions and produce pet food contaminated with harmful bacteria. We will not tolerate firms that put people or animals at risk and will take enforcement actions when needed.”

Bravo Packing, Inc. has already received a previous warning back in 2020 for violating food safety which included insanitary conditions. Multiple pet food samples from the facility were found to be tested positive with Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes.

The decree permits the facility from receiving, preparing, processing, packing, holding, labeling and/or distributing pet food until they take corrective measures.

If you think you or your pets have been sickened by any of these products, please contact a health care professional and the FDA.

Please Note: BRAVO PET FOODS is NOT BRAVO PACKING INC.
Bravo Pet Foods, located in Manchester, CT, has NO relationship OF ANY KIND with Bravo Packing of NJ (in the article above). Bravo Pet Foods has been producing ultra high end frozen and freeze dried diets for pets for 20 years and has not had any FDA recalls. Thank you, Melinda Miller from Bravo Pet Foods for contacting us. We hope that your business is not negatively impacted by Bravo Packing Inc’s recall.
