Many offer cabins as well as accommodating tents and RV’s. As always, call ahead both to reserve and to make sure your pet will truly be welcome.
KOA Kampgrounds are pet friendly and welcome our campers who enjoy traveling and sharing their camping experience with the family dog and / or cat. However to insure all of our guests have a safe and enjoyable time, it is important that you read and abide by the following KOA pet policy:
- Aggressive dogs of any breed are not welcome at any KOA. If your dog shows behavior that is protective and unfriendly to strangers, please leave it home. If you decide to bring your dog and it exhibits this type of behavior the owner or management of the KOA will ask you to please find other camping accommodations.
KOA Kampgrounds are individually owned and operated and some campgrounds may have policies against accepting certain breeds that have been identified by our major insurance provider as having a history of unfriendly and aggressive behavior to both other dogs and to humans. These breeds are Pit Bulls and Pit Bull mixes, Rottweilers and Dobermans.- Pet rules unique to the location will be addressed at time of reservation or registration. We encourage all dog owners to call in advance to inquire about any specific rules that might apply to their situation. Some KOA Kampgrounds do not allow pets in their Kamping Kabins or have limited availability of pet units for rent. Please call in inquire about availability for you and your pet.
- All dogs are required to be under the control and visual observation of their owner at all times. A 6’ (six foot) leash rule is in effect whenever the animal is outside the owner’s camping trailer, vehicle, kabin, or motorhome. No dog should be left tied up and unattended outside the owner’s camping equipment.
- Allowing your pet to bark uncontrollably day or night will not be permitted and you may be asked to leave if you are not able to control your pet’s barking behavior.
- Service dogs of any breed are welcome at all KOA Kampgrounds. However, these animals must follow leash restraint policies and may not exhibit aggressive behavior.

Koa in abaleen Texas has perms with pit bulls that are territorial with aggressive issues and they are being tied out and the owners doesn't stay outside with them either. And nobody cares! I know cause I had to move to keep my Maltese from being malled by one but it's friendly says it's owners and managers

Dogs like Pitt bulldogs should never have the right to be in camp grounds,,these dogs can not be trusted,,,there on owners can’t tell u what they will do next..these dogs are a danger to small kids and other dogs, and will turn on there owners..iam glad they are not at the KOA camp grounds,,,and I hope it stays that way..thanks KOA for this law…

This is absolutely the most uninformed comment I've ever seen. Someone with zero dog knowledge trying to preach about what a dog will or will not do.
Outdated opinion from an outdated ignoramus.

Heres the thing with that, all dogs have an aggressive nature, An day the law it’s not fair to other breeds, other small dogs are dangerous too, my little cousin was almost put Into the hospital for a small dog attacking her, and pitbuls are not aggressive by nature, they are raised that way, I’ve had them all my life, and if you looked up Dobermans they today are being breed out of aggression as in leaving it and being gentle, my Doberman is a level 2 obedience and is very friendly and would never hurt a soul, An for a correction on not knowing what’ll happen next, hello, humans ain’t mind reader non of us can tell what our dog would do next, all breeds can be very aggressive, and all breeds could turn on there owners in a second but people can’t just blame te big ones cause their scared and feel intimidated.

Friendly Park if you own a Lab dog but I own two Dobermans and they label them as aggressive dogs so I’m not allowed to go to KOA isn’t that like saying all Muslim people are terrorists. It’s not the breed it’s the Handler
