RECALL ALERT: TFP Nutrition Expands Voluntary Recall To Include Additional Dry Dog, Cat, And Catfish Food Products Over Possible Salmonella Health Risk

TFP Nutrition is expanding their voluntary recall from October to include all the dry dog, dry cat, and catfish food products that were manufactured in their Nacogdoches, Texas, facility.

The expanded voluntary recall was announced by the company and published by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on November 16, Thursday.

According to the FDA, the expansion of the voluntary recall came due to the potential Salmonella contamination of these production codes.

TFP Nutrition has apologized for any potential issues these products may have caused. They added that they are currently working directly with retailers to remove the recalled products from their supply chain.

If you think you’ve purchased any of the recalled products, please immediately stop feeding your pets with the food and do not feed it to any other animals.

Furthermore, do not sell or donate the recalled products. Instead, destroy and dispose them in a way that no human or animal can gain access to it.

Ensure that you thoroughly wash and sanitize your hands after handling the recalled products and/or anything that came in contact with it, such as food bowls, containers, utensils, and surfaces where you placed the food.

Salmonella can affect both the individual handling the infected product and the pets eating it.

Healthy individuals suspected of Salmonella infection should monitor themselves of the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping, and fever.

Pets with Salmonella may show the following symptoms: lethargy, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some may also exhibit decreased appetite, fever, and abdominal pain.
