Someone with four legs and a wagging tail graced the 77th Cannes Film Festival red carpet on Tuesday, May 14.

Messi, the dog from the award-winning 2023 film “Anatomy Of A Fall”, walked up and down (and barked, might we add) the Cannes carpet on Tuesday.

The Border Collie strolled past lines of tuxedo-clad photographers calling out his name and clapping for him at the red carpet.

The VIP (Very Important Pup) walked up the stairs to the Palais des Festivals, sat and held his front paws up to pose, like the movie star that he is. He also didn’t forget to bark before walking down the stairs again!

But this isn’t the last time you’ll see him at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Because at the red carpet, Messi was seen carrying a camera stick in between his teeth, filming content for his TV series called “Messi: The Cannes Festival Seen from a Dog’s Point of View'”.

The show consists of eight one-minute-long episodes that will air daily on multiple French TV stations. And it has premiered on May 14 and will continue until the end of the festival on May 25.

The show will allow viewers to experience the Cannes Film Festival from dawn to dusk “through the eyes and the voice” of Messi.

France Télévisions wrote, “Messi will introduce us to the best of the best at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, but from a dog’s point of view.”

Aside from his red carpet videos, Messi will have access to the most exclusive corners of the festival to film interview with stars and behind-the-scenes footages.
