Only 120 kilometers into today’s 18th leg of the famous Tour de France bike race, a large black dog crossed into the street causing a crash involving Philippe Gilbert of Belgium and Denis Menchov of Russia. The crash occurred between Blagnac and Brive-la-Gaillarde.
After his crash landing, Philippe Gilbert, angry, tried to approach the dog’s owners alongside the road, but was held back by his team’s manager.
All bikers involved in the crash were unharmed and able to resume racing.
Plus, their canine encounter might bring a bit of good luck – in 2007, Sandy Casar of France won a leg of the race after being knocked off his bike by another dog!

That’s just sad. Why did they bring their dog in the first place? I wouldn’t want to be the owner of that dog right now!
