The former Mrs. Cruise and daughter, Suri, were spotted at Chelsea Pier last week, with a curly-haired canine in tow. Could Hollywood’s most famous single-mom have adopted a dog?

It was just a few short weeks ago that Katie Holmes and Suri visited a pet store in New York City, causing Suri to break into tears when they left without the Yorkie and Maltese puppies they were playing with. The pet store visit also prompted this site and other dog advocates to stress to Katie and the rest of the world the importance of adoption.

Well, it appears Katie may have taken our advice and adopted an older dog, instead of a pet store puppy! The Daily Mail reported on the sighting.

Katie has been very hush-hush about the new addition, not revealing the dog’s name – or if it even belongs to her and Suri – to reporters yet. But, we’ll be following the happy family to see both Suri and their potential new pet grow up together.
