Don Weikum

Having grown up with at least one dog around our house at all times, I came to be a dog lover. I moved away to college and then to post-graduate studies in the health-care professions, where I am working at the present time. When I married, my wife and I purchased a black lab, Pepper, to be a companion for our two boys as they grew up. As the years went by, we inherited a dog (lab-chow mix) that the owners could no longer keep. Then a little beagle mix adopted us. My wife and I love the out of doors. We also love to garden, hike, kayak, and snowshoe. We no longer have a dog at home, but there is a big soft spot in my heart for dogs, and they seem to know that when we meet for the first time.
