A now 14-year old Chihuahua that went missing from her California home a decade ago is finally headed back to her family after she was found roaming alone in a Minnesota yard.
Fourteen-year old Chihuahua, Isabella, was found wandering a Burnsville, Minnesota yard by herself when she was picked up by Animal Control Officers.
When they scanned her chip hoping to return her to her home, officers were shocked to discover that the tiny dog was very far from home – and had been missing for the last ten years!
For several of those years, she’d been living with a Minnesota family, but it’s unclear how they ended up with her. During that time, her rightful family never stopped hoping she’d one day return home.
And, thanks to her implanted microchip, which the family kept registered and updated with current contact information, their hopes and wishes finally came true.
Isabella is now in the process of being transported from Burnsville, Minnesota to California’s Bay Area to be reunited with the family that’s missed her all these years.
