A stray dog found literally crawling the streets of Arizona has made an incredible transformation making her an inspiration to everyone she meets – yet, somehow, she’s still searching for her perfect forever family.

Addie

Meet Adeline, or Addie for short. When 4-year old Addie was found as a stray in Arizona, she’d been without care for so long that the carpal joints in her front legs were basically nonexistent. In excruciating pain and unable to walk, she had resorted to crawling on a daily basis.

Addie was diagnosed with Immune-Mediated Polyarthritis, a rare condition that resulted in the erosion of her joints. She remained calm, sweet, and loving, despite the amount of pain she was in. Her legs were extremely swollen, and she’d learned to crawl everywhere she wanted to go as it was too painful to walk.

Addie was outfitted with special leg braces that gave her mobility back – and her response to the braces was nothing short of amazing! After taking her first steps again, it wasn’t long before she was running around, tail wagging, happy as could be!

Because Rescue Bank, a program of GreaterGood.org, provided meals to homeless dogs in their care, Save-A-Bull Rescue in Arizona had the funds and means available to get Addie the help she needed.

“Rescue Bank’s impact goes beyond providing meals to homeless dogs and cats,” said Elizabeth Asher, executive director for Rescue Bank. “Because we provided meals to Addie’s rescue, they were able to take the money they saved and spend it on life-saving rehabilitation for Addie. They were also able to provide front leg braces that gave her the opportunity to walk, run and play again!”

Today, Addie needs to wear her front leg braces for daily activities, but she doesn’t let that get in her way! An inspiration to everyone she meets, Addie may not be able to run marathons (honestly, how many of us can?) but she loves a leisurely walk from time to time. She would especially love curling up next to her human family to watch a movie – and sneak in a kiss (or three)!

If this incredible, inspirational, and resilient pup would be a perfect fit in your family, she’s available for adoption through Adopt-a-Bull Rescue in Tucson, Arizona. For more information, to learn more about Addie, or begin the adoption process, click here.
