A North Carolina dog that was thrown out with the trash by his previous owners has been adopted on September 12, five days after they found him in a carrier beside trash bags.

Moe Moe, a 4.5-year-old old American Bulldog mix, was found by sanitation workers on September 7, Thursday.

The Hoke County Animal Shelter shared a Facebook post saying, “Moe-Moe was literally put out with the trash” with a photo of the pooch sitting in his crate, beside bags of trash for pick-up.

The animal shelter in North Carolina shared, “thankfully the guys that pick up the trash called Animal Control and were kind enough to give him some water with ice while they waited. We were able to get some info on him.”

“He’s such a sweetheart and I can’t imagine what he’s feeling right now,” the shelter continued.

The animal shelter shared that Moe Moe used to live with three other dogs from a previous owner, and lived with children in the last home he lived before being thrown out with the trash.

“He’s housebroken, walks great on leash, is already neutered and will have a reduced adoption fee,” the Hoke County Animal Shelter wrote.

After the animal shelter announced that Moe Moe will be up for adoption on September 12, the pooch immediately found his forever home.

In an update, the Hoke Country Animal Shelter wrote, “His new mom is the sweetest and has already sent me some updates &Hearts;️ He’s already enjoying his big beautiful backyard and his new home.”

The animal shelter’s post about Moe Moe went viral and broke the hearts of many dog lovers online. Many users expressed their dismay over the situation and can’t help but feel sorry for the pooch.

One user wrote, “I can’t even begin to comprehend how a person would rationalize this.” While another wrote, “Poor Moe-Moe!!! Hope he finds a forever beautiful home with beautiful humans that let him live his best life full of love and happiness.”

The Hoke Country Animal Shelter also revealed that “everything was turned over immediately” when a user said “I hope that with the information on his owners comes contact with law-enforcement for animal abandonment charges.”

While the sweet Moe Moe has finally found his forever home, a lot of animals at the Hoke Country Animal Shelter are still waiting for their happily every after.
