Dogington Post Awards Presented at Global Pet Expo for Pet Industry Excellence

The pet industry’s largest annual trade show, Global Pet Expo, opened on February 20th showcasing the latest and greatest in dog products. While attending the event, Dogington Post presented certificates to the winners of the Dogington Post Awards.

Pridebites W Award
PrideBites Interactive Dog Toys won the Best Dog Toy award from The Dogington Post.

Thousands of pet retailers and more than 800 exhibiting companies descended upon the Orange County Convention Center on February 20th through 22nd, 2013 for the Global Pet Expo.

The pet industry’s largest annual trade show event, Global Pet Expo was open to independent retailers, distributors, mass-market buyers and other industry professionals. Thousands of new products were launched at GPE, making it the must-attend event for industry insiders.

Editors and staff writers from The Dogington Post attended the event to be among the first to view hot new pet products, meet face-to-face with pet industry leaders, and to present awards to the winners of the Dogington Post Awards.

Castorpollux W Award
Merrick Pet Care, manufacturers of the Castor & Pollux line of Organix dog food won Gold for Best Organic Dog Food.

Dogington Post is the internet newspaper, all about dogs. The site offers a forum of informative articles, breaking news about dogs, health and breed information, and heartwarming stories and videos for the most discerning dog lover. The Dogington Post Awards recognize the best dog products and services in multiple categories.  These awards set a high standard for excellence in the pet consumer community. Until the site launched them, no awards of this kind existed in the industry. Winners were chosen by the readers and dog-loving fans of the Dogington Post with a majority vote.

Freehand With Award
The FreeHand team was all smiles when presented with their award for Best Dry Dog Food.

“Industry events, like Global, are our best way to get face-time with the people behind the dog products we love and to see what’s new on the market for dogs,” said Brandy Arnold, Content Editor for Dogington Post. “It was also the perfect time to present our Dogington Post Awards winners with certificates officially announcing their big win!”

The companies presented with their Dogington Post Award were:
• FreeHand – Best Dry Dog Food
• Clear Conscience Pet – Best Dog Treat
• PrideBites – Best Dog Toy
• Stella & Chewy’s – Best Raw Dog Food
• Castor & Pollux – Best Organic Dog Food

Although not in attendance at GPE, National Mill Dog Rescue will receive their certificate for Best Dog Rescue and PeopleFüd received the award for Best Wet Dog Food. Ellen Degeneres, co-owner of Halo Pet Foods was chosen as Best Dog-Loving Celebrity.

Anthony and Amanda Bennie, the husband and wife team that created Clear Conscience Pet were awarded with Best Dog Treat for their Lamb Airy Bites.

“The Dogington Post Awards have been received with an overwhelming positive response from the both the dog community and our winners,” said Arnold. “We are proud of our fan base for choosing to recognize companies that have integrity – companies that put dogs’ well-being at the forefront of their missions.”

In addition to presenting awards to their winners, the staff of Dogington Post also met with many companies and manufacturers of exciting and innovative pet products at Global. The site will continue to inform it’s 2.6 million dog loving fans of news in the dog industry by publishing product reviews, dog food and nutrition, training and health articles, and more.
