After an exhaustive search that turned up no leads, the family of two young Soddy Daisy, Tennessee children that went missing on Tuesday night grew increasingly concerned for their wellbeing.
Hannah Elizabeth, 7, and Matthew Gideon Musgrave, 4, were reported missing from the front porch of their rural home around 8:30pm on Tuesday night. Expected to be somewhere in the heavily wooded, dangerous terrain of Mowbray Mountain, police, fire rescue, and park rangers began an extensive search for the small children both on foot and by helicopter equipped to detect heat signatures.
When the search turned up no leads, crews planned to resume Wednesday morning. Luckily, the didn’t have to.
The children reportedly followed their dog into the woods on Tuesday night, but quickly became lost in the dark, dense woods of Mowbray Mountain. Fortunately, they knew their best chance of making it back home would be to stay with and follow their dog.
