It took Houston Firefighters over an hour to free a frightened black Lab mix puppy whose head was stuck inside a tire.
A good samaritan found the tire and the trapped puppy next to the dumpster at her apartment complex. Worried that a wrong move might cut her or break her neck, firefighters spent over an hour carefully trying to loosen the stuck pup. They tried putting soap on the side of her head, hoping that would help her slide out, but it didn’t work. Next, they tried sawing through the metal, but the vibrations were too scary for the terrified puppy.
Eventually, firefighters used the “jaws of life” to free the sweet, affectionate little girl.
They appropriately named her Lugnut.
