Calie

A 7-year old Pit Bull named Calie is now being hailed a hero after alerting her family to fire, well before fire alarms sounded.

Yvon Guillaume, who lives in the Chelsea home with his sister-in-law, two nephews, and a niece, was alone with the fire broke out, though he didn’t know it until Calie, the family’s dog, began barking.

Though he initially ignore her warning, he realized something was really wrong when she wouldn’t stop – even though the home’s fire alarm had not yet gone off.

He decided to check the house for smoke – that’s when he found a small fire in a storage room in the home’s attic.

Calie was barking from the opposite end of the home, in the basement.

Panicked, Yvon ran from the house and called the fire department. Calie was still inside when firefighters arrived. They safely rescued her and fought the flames for more than 3 hours.

The family, along with their heroic dog, Calie, are all alive and well, but will now begin the process of rebuilding their home and lives after losing everything in the massive fire.

What kind of arse hole leaves a burning house without their pet?
I've copied & pasted pertinent parts of the story to refresh the memory of those who think the dog's in a loving home.
'Yvon Guillaume found a small fire in a storage room in the home’s attic before the homes smoke detectors sounded an alert, while Calie, the pit bull, was barking from the opposite end of the home, in the basement.'
'Panicked, Yvon ran from the house & called the fire department. Calie was still inside when firefighters arrived – where she was safely rescued.'
Poor dog. Its human is a POS.

Over and over we hear stories about our beloved breed because this is what this dog has been long revered as – the ultimate, loyal family pet! One day we will no longer need to know the breed of dog in headlines and instead it will be merely a story about a beloved canine that saved it’s family….. One day.
