America’s Got Talent judge and “shock jock” radio personality, Howard Stern, sent a heartbreaking Tweet out to his fans and followers. “Tough day today my friends. Thanks for all the kind messages. Give your dog a hug for me tonight.” Stern and his wife Beth had just lost their beloved English bulldog, Bianca.
Bianca joined the Sterns in 2002 when they adopted the rescue puppy. Her full name, Bianca Romijn-Stamos-O’Connell-Ostrosky-Stern, was a shout-out to family friends John Stamos and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, who were married at the time. When Rebecca married Jerry O’Connell in 2007, Bianca took on his name as well.
The following day, on Stern’s SiriusXM radio show, he shared the news with listeners. The family are clearly having a tough time dealing with the loss of their dear pup, as evidenced by Stern’s discussion below.
Howard said on air, “I’ve learned I’m human because I’m so touched by my dog. My dog taught me how to love – love deeper.”
The “King of All Media” loved his dog so much, he even wears her name tattooed on his arm.
The Dogington Post is touched by Howard’s show of emotion, and offer him and his family our sincerest condolences during this trying time. Many of us have felt the pain of losing a dog and can empathize with Mr. Stern’s suffering. The news of any dog’s passing is painfully felt in all of us. We are truly sorry for his loss.

I feel your family’s hurt and loss over your lovely Bianca. a had to have my cocker spaniel put down 8-9-12 and my heart feels like it won’t heal. I have 2 dogs and I am trying not to ignore her as I grieve for Ashley. Bulldogs are one of my favorite snorting, honking, noisemaking drooling breeds. there is one somewhere out there waiting for your love. reach out.

i lost my 3.5 yr old bichon named mimi 16 days ago. she had spinal surgery that left her paralyzed. the reason i let her go was bc she was so stressed out bc she couldnt get to the noises and she wanted to see what they were, and i knew she was miserable. she also couldnt eliminate by herself. i was so busy taking care of her, i work 6 days a week and had friends coming in to express her bladder, etc, while i worked that i dvr’ed your show americas got talent and am only on episode 7! so, you are in my prayers, may God help you and keep you in your time of grief.

Mr.& Mrs. Stern, I’m sooooo very sorry to hear of your loss. I still cry over my Harley Joe. He was a solid white wolf-shepard mix. He was also a spoiled rotten Momma’s boy. I have two now, one I had when my Harley died, then I rescued a puppy from some neighbors when I lived in Mississippi to keep her from being put down. No other animal will replace your beloved Bianca, but there are so many babies in need of saving and I know you would give some lucky dog all the love it could stand. I have my Jasper Lee and my Jasmine (Jazzy) Lane and if I had the money, I would open no-kill shelters throughout the country! I want to save them all!!!!! My heart and prayers go out to you and your beautiful wife and just know you’ve got your own personal PuppyAngel looking out for you! Again, I’m very sorry for your loss, it’s like losing a child! Have faith my dear and the rest will come as it should. Jesus is taking care of him now!

I am so sorry for your big loss. Mt heart goes out to you. I, unfortunately had a dog, dognapped 10 years ago Right in the middle of my chemotherapy treatments..A little stray dog that loved me hands down. “Buddy” was dognapped by a neighbor who gave him to another family. This family member had a bother that was a policeman at my local station. I can’t tell you the pain I went thru for 2 YEARS. My heart hurt everyday. I called the station 3-4 days a week. They would put me on speaker phone, make fun of my “Buddy”, patronize me,anything except get my dog back .. I have a notebook 2″ thick with information re his location, a journal of my every day investigation.
Only one time were they nice to me…BECAUSE, my name is Kathjy O’Donnell and the actually thought I was Rosie O’Donnell. They passed the phone around to other “Guys” wanting to help her. They hung up on me when I told them this was BUDDYs Mother. I finally went to the shelter and found another dog that looked just like Buddy “Babe”. I ended up being homeless for a few year and Babe took care of me just like Buddy did. I don’t mean to sound pusshy but you should go the shelter and get another dog A.S.A.P.. Babe unfortunately died and I refused to wait years to get another one. I put my big girl pants and found little Scooter another, perfect friend. I will spend the rest of my life thinking about Buddy . I only wish I could find out about him someday. So with your pain go out and just look, you’ll never replace your dog but you will feel good knowing he’s watching over you and the new one. P.S. All my animals go to Noah’s Ark, some people too,if they are worthy ..BYE kids, keep that light shinning I’ll find you someday.. Sincerely and with love,
