Recall

On February 18, 2022, U.S. Food and Drug Administration alerted the public that Family Dollar, Inc. initiated a voluntary retail level product recall of certain products which include human foods, cosmetics, animal foods, medical devices and over-the-counter medications.

The products include those that were purchased from January 1, 2021 until present from Family Dollar stores in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee. There is a possibility that these products are unsafe to consume and originated from the company’s distribution facility in West Memphis, Arkansas due to its unsanitary conditions.

The facility was found to have the presence of rodents and rodent activity. Rodent contamination may cause Salmonella and other infectious diseases which can be fatal for infants, young children, frail or elderly people, pregnant women, and immunocompromised people

Thankfully, up to this date, the company is not aware of any consumer complaints or reports of any illnesses related to this recall.

If you have any affected products in your possession, please do not use these products or feed them to your pets. For those who have pets who have possibly consumed recalled animal food products, please contact your veterinarian immediately.

If If you have any questions or concerns about this recall, please contact Family Dollar Customer Service at 844-636-7687 between 9am and 5pm EST. You may also report any adverse reactions or quality problems to FDA’s MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program either online or call 1- 800-332-1088 to request a reporting form, then complete and return to the address on the pre-addressed form, or submit by fax to 1-800-FDA-0178.
