New Hampshire-based dog treat manufacturer, Kritter’s Kitchen Kreations, LLC is voluntarily recalling their line of chicken jerky dog treats after at least 21 people became infected with Salmonella.
The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services announced the recall of all lots and packages of Kritter’s Kitchen Kreations’ Joey’s Jerky Chicken Treats due to presence of Salmonella bacteria.
While Salmonella rarely affects dogs, 21 New Hampshire residents of Merrimack and Hillsborough Counties have become ill after handling the treats.
Joey’s Jerky was sold at the following six stores: America’s Pet in Hudson, Blue Seal in Bow, K9 Kaos in Dover, Osborne’s Agway in Concord, Sandy’s Pet Food Center in Concord, and The Yellow Dogs Barn in Barrington.
The NH Department of Health and Human Services is urging anyone who has purchased the treats to discontinue feeding and discard any leftover product.
