RECALL ALERT: Mars Petcare UK Recalls Variety of Pedigree and Chappie Dry Dog Foods

“This post contains affiliate links, and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.”

Mars Petcare UK is recalling several of its dog food products because they may contain high levels of vitamin D which exceed the maximum permitted intake.

Excess vitamin D in the diet can cause vomiting, loss of appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, excessive drooling and weight loss. Vitamin D at toxic levels can cause kidney failure and death. Pet owners whose dogs have been eating the recalled brands and are showing these symptoms should contact their veterinarians.

I feed my dog crappie tinned wet food, am I right in assuming that the wet tinned does not apply?

That is correct. Only the dry dog foods are involved in this recall.
