Celebrity fashion designer, Roberto Cavalli is bringing more than just beautiful gowns into the spotlight these days! The dog lover recently helped his Yorkshire Terrier, Rosa deliver 4 gorgeous Yorkie pups while sailing on his boat last week.
Cavalli wrote on his blog about the life changing events:
We were anxious for almost a month…
We feared that the boat might not be the best place for Rosa to deliver her puppies…
My vet explained to me all the stages involved in the birth of some puppies. Rosa is a small two kilos Yorkshire and I was afraid for her first delivery.
The style guru learned from his veterinarian how to assist his precious dog during delivery, but said, “…nature is amazing! Rosa was very good and she followed the voice of God and learned quickly.”
Cavalli told fans about his emotions during the delivery, how his dog seemed to want to be alone to give birth, but after the fourth – and the tiniest – puppy was born, Rosa wanted her doting dog parents to stay close.
The fashion designer remarks on how fragile life is, putting pen to paper with the same care and inspired beauty as the gorgeous gowns he’s famous for.
“La Vita!” They cannot see the light yet… their little eyes are still closed… they will open delicately in about a week.
His final words to fans and friends, “Our family has grown!”

I’m sure it was a transformational experience. Our dogs teach us so much that is positive and powerful if we’re open to learning. I hope, Mr. Cavalli, part of your expression of love for your beloved dogs will be a commitment to help stop the use of dog and cat fur in the fashion industry and obtained primarily from Asian countries.

I agree with your experience in helping your yorkie with her first litter. I also had to do the same with mine on may 15th she has 3 babies and they are the most precious little dogs. Congratulations to you and your family.
