Ask yourself if you really have the time and dog training experience to take on this home training. Many people think they do, but it is not until they actually begin the training do they realize they are either in over their head due to inexperience, or do not have the required time needed for correctly training the dog.

Is the home you are living in spacious enough for training your pooch there? Not just the inside size of the home but available yard space for outside training. Those living in confined quarters may want to reconsider if they do not have at least access to the inside and outside space needs.

When you begin training your dog at home, already have any reward treats on hand as well as the various training aids you will need. Naturally a quality leash and collar will be required. Various size rubber balls, games designed to teach your dog how to think through a process that gets him to the end of the game and his treat, and any other items required.

Training your dog at home is a wonderful way to learn so much about your dog and along the way you will learn things about yourself you did not know. Give it a try and good luck!
