When rescue dog, Newman, had a lot of pent up energy during the Winter months, but it was too cold to play outside, his human, Kaydi Grunhovd started directing his energy toward a new hobby – painting!

Using lots of patience, positive reinforcement, and specially adapted paintbrushes, Newman quickly took to the hobby. And now, he’s being called the next Picasso!

“I wanted to show that rescue dogs are smart, and I wanted him to be an ambassador for that. It’s just added bonus that if anybody wants to support him by purchasing one of his pieces of art that donations would be given back to circle of friends,” Grunhovd told WDAZ-TV.

Newman’s paintings can be seen (or purchased) through his Etsy Store.

All money raised goes toward animal rescue groups in Newman’s home state of Minnesota.
