When Pluto, a 13-year old Australian Shepherd went missing, his family (understandably) panicked. Then, when they found him, buried to his neck in thick mud, unable to crawl out, and unable to pull him to safety, owner Sheila Shorr called the Willistown Township Police Department.
Sergeant Mike Martin and Patrol Officer Mike Kushner answered the call. Both dog lovers, the officers jumped into action to save the sweet dog barely clinging to life.
Shorr told CBS Philly that she’d been searching for Pluto for 3 days before finding him in the mud. She believes he became stuck shortly after running off. That means Pluto was stuck, up to his neck in mud, for nearly 60 hours.
